Alien Technology, Inc. is a leader in UHF Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Integrated Circuits (IC) technology, and as such desired a state-of-the-art facility for their company to develop and manufacture the panels. The creative design approach is built upon an industrial aesthetic, symbolizing the Alien standard for creative and innovative appeal, with motifs suggested by the company name. The organizational pattern used was built from actual crop circle sightings found in North America. The color and material palette selected suggest extraterrestrial life forms and paranormal phenomena.

The office areas of the building exude a lightheartedness not typically seen in corporate spaces, helping further define the company in a community known for its large technology sector. The manufacturing area is a highly-flexible space, allowing for changes in the processes developed by the company.

This project delivers an efficient and functional workspace to the client as well as highlighting the culture of the company. Rather than give the company a typically corporate space, creative license was taken with areas such as the board room. In addition to high-end audio/video capabilities, the design employs a fiber optic star ceiling, which closely replicates constellations and the Milky Way, complete with animated shooting stars.
