The Urgent Care Center is a prototype clinic and first site adaptation in Austin, Texas representing the first step in establishing a nation-wide chain of healthcare centers. The clinic will cater to clientele who demand a higher level of service, better diagnosis and treatment, and more complete post-care follow-up than is available at traditional minor emergency centers.
The client was interested in creating a distinct identifiable image that maintained the image of service which conveys efficiency, competence, and a high level of patient care.
A porte cohere provides a sheltered patient drop-off and pick-up point while non-ambulatory patients may arrive at a separate ambulance entrance at the rear of the building.
All exam rooms are grouped around a central work/nurse station area which is directly accessible from radiology, the laboratory and staff lounges.
