Round Rock Higher
Education Center-TSU Round Rock, Texas
The Round Rock Higher Education Center project is the first phase of development of a new 100-acre campus in Round Rock, Texas for the Texas State University System planned and constructed under the guidance of Texas State University - San Marcos.
Phase I consisted of development/improvements to the first 20.5 acres of the campus and included all site utilities and site improvement for surface parking, and the construction of 134,000 SF of buildings: a new four-level Multi-Purpose Classroom, Administrative, Student Services and Faculty Office Building and supporting Phase 1 & 2 Central Plant.
The building is expected to function in its multi-use capacity for 2-5 years and then transition into a full administrative building. The expressed design intent was to utilize exterior materials that reflected the heritage of the rural community combined with the type of modern technology required for a higher education facility including meeting today's student needs for wireless internet and dispersed learning areas throughout the interior and exterior spaces.
